TrigJig coving and measuring tool in stainless steel.
For this project, the customer needed some photorealistic renderings of their product, so he can use them on the final packaging, and promotional images to use in social media, before it got out on the market.
Luckily, he already have the 3D CAD models, so I only needed to add small modifications, as they were two versions of this coving tool to be released. And he needed both.
With the modified 3D models in hand, I used Fluidray RT for Shade 3D, to create the photorealistic images he needed. Fluidray already comes with a good library of metallic and plastic materials, so I just proceeded to add them to the model, and I only had to create the screen content using a file with an Alpha Channel.
I used an HDRI file from a library to create the photo studio environment, as well as an infinite light grey background, that worked well with the stainless steel material.
Rotating the product and cameras, I was able to create the images really fast. Additionally, I added a hand-saw to show how the product is used.
All in all, the resulting images were of great quality and the customer was really satisfied with the job. They proved to be a great alternative to traditional photos taken in a studio. And Fluidray RT with Shade 3D proved to be a couple of great tools to deliver the project on time.
